It’s been a while since my last post. I’ve been through a lot of big life changes recently whilst concurrently dealing with my ankle sprain. Those who have followed my instagram know that I’m still on the journey with my ankle and that I’ve learned a hell of a lot along the way!
I’m currently on my way up to the Highlands to revisit a section of the West Highland Way which I ran in its entirety in April last year with a good friend. This huge feat was the sowing of the mindful movement seed as I took my mind and body beyond its limits and had to learn to get in touch with myself to heal properly.
This time around, being more in touch with my mind and body helped me make great physical as well as emotional and psychological progress. I was more assertive in getting the right help in good time and quicker to pull myself from a hole of self-pity to reflect, reasses and move forward.
More detailed posts on my injury rehab coming soon plus discoveries I’m making about mindfulness in other sports as I progress with training towards Brighton Triathlon (Olympic Distance). Watch this space!
